Financial Primer

Why is it worth spending a moment on the Financial Primer?

Because money is an important topic

Money is an important topic, even though it’s also a taboo subject in our society. A very personal subject. That’s why the name of the field that deals with our private money is personal finance. Unfortunately, our education system believes that knowing the variety of mushroom anatomy and their life processes is far more important than the skill of how to spend money so that in 7 years you can buy your dream car. Our level of financial education depends on our parents — on whether, as children, they taught us how to spend money and manage our finances.

We learn the Pythagorean theorem and how to calculate a cosine, but we don’t learn how to discount the future value of money. And is the ability to calculate the slope of terrain really more useful to me in adult life than the ability to work out how to spend money so I can save a specific amount that, in x years, will let me buy something that today costs 40,000 PLN?

Unfortunately, at school we don’t learn how to spend money, and a large share of parents don’t teach their children either. And so we grow up without the habit of budgeting, of saving, without financial awareness. What’s more, finances are so personal and so important to us that we don’t want anyone meddling in what we do with them. We want to decide for ourselves how to spend our money.

How will the Financial Primer help you?

That’s why I created the Financial Primer. So that you can discover, on your own, in your own privacy and in secret, all the secrets of personal finance you find useful. To help you learn how to spend money without a moral hangover and how to do a household budget without publicly admitting these are only your beginnings.

You can’t run away from personal finance. You use money, you earn it and spend it — and that’s already personal finance. You use a bank’s services, and perhaps you buy products you don’t understand. After working through the Financial Primer, no one will put one over on you anymore.

You’ll know how to spend money on the things that matter to you. You won’t let yourself be sold insurance you don’t need, because you’ll know how to insure and protect yourself well. You’ll take control of your life and start living the way you want. You’ll stop worrying about money, and the subject of finances will become a pleasant, cheerful chat for you.

So, is it worth dedicating 30 minutes a day?
